I flew out to Taiwan towards the end of August, so I still
haven’t been here for too long, but so far I love it! It’s very different from
what I’m used to, but that’s definitely not a bad thing.
I came here with a couple of friends, and together we have
started working (teaching English to very cute and clever Taiwanese children)
and exploring the Island.
So far we’ve been to night markets, where we have seen
copious amounts of very odd looking food, and smelt the “stinky tofu”, which
I’m not quite brave enough to try!
We recently took a trip to Yilan, which is on the East
coast, and very beautiful. We rented a house and made a long weekend of it,
visiting hot springs, waterfalls, beaches and the beautiful Taroko Gorge.
We want to make the most of our time here, and there’s so
many more things we want to explore here, so we have a big long list pinned to
our fridge with the aim of crossing something off every couple of weeks!
Of course, the big story over here is…..the baby panda! I
can’t wait till the public are allowed to go and see her! I should try and
persuade mum to design a panda card!
